Singapore Polytechnic (SP) will support companies in adopting Industrial AI more safely and responsibly as the founding training partner for AutomationSG’s Trusted Industrial AI-Ready (TIA-Ready) Framework.
The framework is Singapore’s first industry-owned Industrial AI readiness framework and provides companies with a practical pathway to assess AI risks, put governance in place and build trusted capabilities.

“As the founding training partner of the TIA-Ready Framework, SP will help translate industry collaboration into practical workforce capability, so our graduates, adult learners and industry partners can thrive in an AI-driven economy.”

Helping companies adopt Industrial AI with greater confidence
The TIA-Ready Framework brings together relevant Singapore and international standards into a practical pathway for companies adopting AI in industrial automation, robotics, manufacturing and operational technology. Benchmarked against ISO/IEC 42001, it helps businesses assess risks, assign accountability, implement controls and build evidence for responsible AI deployment.
Companies can begin with a defined use case and strengthen governance as their AI adoption matures. The framework can be applied to areas such as AI tool governance, data leakage prevention, AI-assisted engineering, machine vision inspection, predictive maintenance, quality control and robotics optimisation.
SP supported the development of the framework by bringing on board two SME pilot companies, JM Vistec and CADVision Systems, to test its structure, clarity and practical application through AI-related business operation use cases. Their feedback showed that the framework can help SMEs identify AI-related risks, adopt stronger governance practices and build customer confidence while maintaining business continuity.
A Steering Committee will guide the framework’s development, with AutomationSG and partners such as SP supporting training, pilot implementation and organisational readiness. This phased approach allows companies to build a track record before pursuing ISO/IEC 42001 certification.
Nine partnerships to strengthen talent and industry transformation
The Industrial AI announcement was part of a broader push by SP to strengthen the link between learning, industry transformation and Singapore’s economic priorities.
At the conference, SP formalised nine partnerships with organisations from industry, academia and professional associations. The collaborations will strengthen talent pipelines in manufacturing, semiconductors, aviation and robotics, while advancing sustainability and digital transformation.
They will provide students, staff and adult learners with industry attachments, internships and exposure to emerging technologies such as agentic AI, while helping enterprises build capabilities for regional growth, including opportunities linked to the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone.
